03. Review

The Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 is visually striking as a clearly offensive racket, and on the court, that idea is quickly confirmed. The diamond shape is noticeable from the first hit, with a response designed for those who want to take control of the point and play with intention. It is clearly aimed at intermediate to advanced players who want to dominate the point through power. There is power here, and it shows, but with a pleasant touch that makes it more manageable than its aggressive design might suggest.

First Impressions with the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

The construction already makes it clear where this version is headed: carbon fiber frame, 6K carbon faces, and a soft EVA Performance core. This combination translates into a solid structure, with good rigidity of the surface and a stable feel when we hit hard. The diamond shape is noticeable from the first hit. And yes, the high balance makes it feel clearly head-heavy, which greatly benefits aggressive shots from mid-court and at the net.

In hand, it does not convey a soft feeling in use, but rather a medium-soft touch with that dry response point when we hit hard. At low speeds, it helps a lot because the soft core facilitates a very pleasant ball exit even when the gesture is not too long. This makes the racket comfortable on the joints and less demanding on soft or medium-speed impacts. The Spin Blade Decal finish also adds a rough texture that is particularly noticeable when we aim to work the ball with intention.

Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 from the Back of the Court

From the back, it is immediately clear that we are not dealing with a passive racket or one designed to survive solely with the wrist. The high balance demands technique and anticipation, so when we are pressured close to the body or when the direction changes quickly, we need to be well positioned and accompany the shot. If one intends to block only with the wrist, it can be difficult to reach comfortably. However, the soft core and that medium-soft touch make it quite easy to handle control balls, lobs, and blocks.

We particularly liked how it responds when we decide to really accelerate. As soon as we engage well with our legs and arm, the ball comes out with a lot of weight and depth, allowing for a transition from defense to attack with considerable venom. The lobs also benefit from the help of the EVA Soft Performance core, as the ball exits easily without requiring a long gesture. In long rallies, it is noticeable that it is not a lightweight or ultra-maneuverable racket, so it demands physical commitment and good shot preparation.

Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 at the Net

Where we have felt it best is up high, because in aggressive volleys, deep trays, and smashes is where it enters its natural habitat. The high balance plays in its favor here and allows us to put weight on the ball with a consistent racket feel, well supported by the rigid frame and that structure that holds up well under high pace. It does not move like a lightweight model with super-fast hands, but it responds very well when the intention is to command. In blocks and medium-speed shots, the medium-soft touch helps a lot again.

The rough Spin Blade Decal finish adds to the trays and the vibora, as the ball grips a bit more on the surface and exits with good spin. It is not the roughest on the market, but it is effective enough to notice that extra angle and bite when we cut the volley or seek a dirtier tray. This mix of structural rigidity and a kinder touch from the core allows the racket to maintain good solidity without becoming uncomfortable. If our net game involves pressing and playing in front, this is where it shines.

Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 in the Smash

If we buy it for power, the answer is clear: there is power, but you need to know how to activate it. The diamond shape and high balance greatly favor the aggressive shot, and the rigid frame transmits energy well when we seek a more direct flat smash. The soft core helps the ball come out easily even with short gestures, and in lifted smashes, the rough surface allows the ball to grip more spin and rise better after the bounce, which is useful for looking for the 3-wall shot. Players who rely on leverage will notice that extra when they extend their arm well, although to get the most out of it, good technique and arm speed are necessary.

Power and Control of the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

The overall feel is that of a racket that clearly leans towards power, but without becoming clumsy. The combination of diamond shape, high balance, and rigid frame makes the ball come out heavy and deep when we accelerate, while the EVA Soft Performance rubber provides a very useful ball exit in short gestures. Control comes more from the medium-soft touch, from the firm grip of the handle, and from that rough surface that helps to better work on direction and spin. It is not a pure control racket, and it demands more than usual in defense, but for an offensive game, we found it to be a well-balanced option.

Sweet Spot of the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

The sweet spot is somewhat high, as is often the case with this type of format, but we found it reasonably wide for a diamond racket. It does not turn an off-center hit into magic, although it does leave a correct margin to play with confidence when we hit in its good zone.

Manageability and Comfort of the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

In use, it is noticeable that it is not a lightweight racket nor particularly quick to move, which significantly affects its manageability. The high balance gives it inertia and power, but it also requires us to approach the ball well prepared, especially in defense or in demanding exchanges. Nevertheless, the medium-soft touch provides a very clear friendly face: the joints suffer less, and the overall feel is more comfortable than its offensive profile suggests. We did not notice any strange vibrations, and the transition between hitting and grip feels natural.

The grip has left us with good sensations because it feels firm and has a length that allows for comfortable play even with two hands on the backhand. That slightly elongated handle helps to hold it well without losing the feeling of control, even if we add overgrips. In long matches, it does not punish excessively, which fits very well with its soft core. The least friendly aspect remains the same: when the point becomes very physical, manageability is not its main virtue.

Quality/Price of the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

Its official retail price is €260, although at the time of writing this review, we found it for €205.4 in specialized stores. By price, it falls into the advanced range, and by construction, it is well positioned there: carbon in the frame, 6K carbon in the faces, EVA Soft Performance rubber, and performance clearly aimed at demanding players. In this range, serious materials and a defined on-court proposal are expected, and this Adidas meets that with a clearly offensive approach. As is often the case in padel, over the months these models tend to drop further, and when the next version approaches, it is common for last season’s rackets to become one of the smartest purchases in terms of performance and price.

Who is the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 For?

We see it very clearly for intermediate to advanced players who want to dominate the point through power and who feel comfortable playing offensively. It also fits very well with those looking for a powerful racket, with good ball exit and a kinder touch on the joints than is usually found in head-heavy formats. If we maintain good arm speed and like to press at the net, tray with intention, and smash decisively, this version makes a lot of sense. We would not recommend it to those who prioritize a lightweight, ultra-maneuverable racket or to those who do not yet have the necessary technique and anticipation to handle a high balance.

Pros and Cons of the Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026

  • Excellent ball exit thanks to the EVA Soft Performance core.
  • High balance that favors aggressive shots with a lot of weight and depth.
  • Solid construction with a carbon fiber frame and 6K carbon faces.
  • Medium-soft touch that provides comfort and good control.
  • Rough finish with Spin Blade Decal technology to improve spin.
  • Comfortable and firm grip that allows good hold even with two hands.
  • Consistent racket that holds up well under high pace and aggressive play.
  • It is not a lightweight or ultra-maneuverable racket, which can penalize in pure defense.
  • The high balance demands good technique and anticipation, especially in defense.
  • It can be difficult to reach comfortably if attempting to block only with the wrist.
  • It is not the roughest on the market.

The Adidas Metalbone Carbon 2026 has struck us as a racket with an offensive soul, good ball exit, and very serious power, but it does not give anything away if we find ourselves defending poorly positioned. If our game involves commanding at the net, accelerating with intention, and we want power without sacrificing a comfortable touch, it is a very well-focused option. If what we seek is lightness and total ease in defense, we would look for another profile.
