Federico Chingotto is proof that in elite padel, it’s not just power and physique that matter. The Argentine, known as “Super Mouse”, has carved out his place among the world’s best through tactical intelligence, consistency, and an extraordinary competitive ability.

Who He Is

Born in Olavarría, Argentina, on April 13, 1997, Federico Chingotto is a professional padel player who plays in the drive position and competes as a right-hander. Standing at approximately 1.70 meters, he has broken many stereotypes about the ideal physical profile needed to succeed at the elite level, excelling thanks to his speed on his feet, his anticipation, and an outstanding reading of the game. Also known as “Chingo”, his growth has been steady, supported by quiet work, discipline, and a very solid competitive evolution. For years, he was one of the most reliable figures in Argentine padel and eventually established himself as one of the most valuable players on the circuit due to his enormous influence on pair performance. His career is marked by his long partnership with Juan Tello, with whom he formed one of the most recognizable duos on the circuit. Later, he shared the court with top-level names like Paquito Navarro and Momo González, until finding an especially productive partnership with Ale Galán. As of April 2025, Chingotto holds the 3rd position in the FIP ranking and, with Galán, forms the world’s number 2 duo, a union fondly nicknamed by fans as “Chingalán”. Beyond the results, he represents a very recognizable way of understanding this sport: commitment, competitive humility, and total dedication to the team.

Playing Style

Federico Chingotto’s style is based on a very clear idea: making the difficult look easy. He is one of the best defenders in world padel, capable of returning seemingly lost balls thanks to his explosiveness, balance, and extraordinary trajectory reading. His great virtue is not only reaching impossible balls but doing so with control, judgment, and the ability to transform defense into a real counterattack opportunity. From the back of the court, he stands out for the quality of his lobs, which are very precise for regaining the net or disrupting the opponent’s rhythm, and for excellent management of point timing. His bandeja does not aim for spectacular shots but rather security, depth, and tactical discomfort. At the net, he compensates for the lack of a dominant smash with extremely fast hand speed, outstanding reflexes, and a very reliable volley. Additionally, his ability to cover the court frees up his partner and enhances more aggressive profiles, which explains why he fits so well with offensive players. His partnership with Ale Galán has further elevated these virtues: Chingotto provides order, tactical solidity, and consistency, while his partner takes on more of the finishing role. Overall, the Argentine excels through consistency, intelligence, and tireless competitiveness.
