Franco Stupaczuk is one of those players who stands out from the very first point. Intensity, ambition, and an energy that spreads across the court. When “Stupa” gets into the game, the pace picks up, and the show almost creates itself.
Who He Is
Born in Juan José Castelli, Chaco (Argentina), on March 25, 1996, Franco Stupaczuk has become one of the most important names in Argentine and global padel. He plays on the backhand, is right-handed, and at 1.80 m, he has built his career through hard work, character, and an uncompromising competitiveness.
In the circuit, he is also known as “Stupa” or “El Chaqueño”, two nicknames that perfectly reflect his personality on the court. He is a player of maximum intensity, very emotional in a good way, but who has also matured his game to establish himself as a regular figure in the elite of padel.
One of the most special moments of his career came alongside Martín Di Nenno, forming the memorable pair known as the “Superpibes”. Their story resonated with fans due to their chemistry, shared past, and that highly recognizable way of competing. In April 2025, Stupaczuk holds the 5th position in the FIP ranking and is embarking on a new phase with Juan Lebrón, a duo with more than enough arguments to compete for major tournaments.
Playing Style
Talking about Stupa’s game is talking about explosiveness, aggressiveness, and total commitment. He is one of the most physical players on the circuit and has an incredible ability to turn a difficult defense into an offensive action in just a couple of strokes.
From the backhand, his approach is clearly offensive. He stands out for a very powerful smash, a quick and aggressive volley, and an enormous ease in accelerating the exchange when he detects the slightest opening. Near the net, he is especially dangerous because he needs very little time to create real danger.
Among his most recognizable skills is the famous “Rulo Stupa”, a topspin shot that has become part of his identity as a player. Beyond its visual appeal, it is a very useful tactical tool for gaining depth, breaking rhythms, and forcing the opponent to hit from uncomfortable positions.
On a tactical level, he stands out for his constant pressure and a very clear idea of the game: move forward, press, and not let the opponent breathe. Additionally, there is a trait that perfectly defines him: he never gives up on a point. This mix of intensity, offensive mindset, and ability to appear in crucial moments makes him one of the most spectacular and competitive players in current padel.
